#30×30
PROTECT 30% OF LAND AND OCEAN BY 2030
The 30x30 Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework is a crucial roadmap for protecting Earth's biodiversity. We are dedicated to supporting its implementation together with our partners, striving to create lasting positive impact for nature and future generations.
THE BIODIVERSITY LOSS
Our planet faces unprecedented biodiversity loss, with up to 1 million species at risk of extinction. Since 1970, the size of animal populations have declined by 73%, on average.
This biodiversity loss threatens not just wildlife, but human wellbeing, economic stability, and the health of our planet’s interconnected systems.

IUCN RED LIST OF THREATENED SPECIES
Established in 1964, the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species has evolved to become the world’s most comprehensive information source on the global extinction risk status of animal, fungus and plant species.
A CALL TO COLLECTIVE ACTION
The 30×30 target establishes a global plan to protect 30% of Earth’s lands, ocean, coastal areas, and inland waters by 2030. It was adopted by 196 countries at COP15 in December 2022.
This ambitious goal focuses global conservation efforts as, by dedicating a significant portion of the natural world to conservation, it aims to preserve the diverse life forms that inhabit these areas, ensuring their survival for generations to come.
This framework emphasizes the urgent need for collective global action and acts as a call to unite countries, communities, and individuals in preserving the health and diversity of the planet’s ecosystems through a holistic approach.
