Elevating young voices
for the ocean

La Tribune Bleue

2026

Challenge

While the future of the ocean depends on decisions made across generations, youth voices are not always visible in the debates where ideas, narratives, and collective ambition take form. As a powerful expression of art and leadership, public speaking can offer young people a platform to bring the ocean to the forefront.

Action

La Tribune Bleue is a French-speaking public speaking competition on ocean issues organised by the Deep Blue Foundation at the Sorbonne University in Paris. It offers students a public platform to speak for the ocean, defend ideas, and share their perspectives in front of a jury of experts and a wider audience.

Through the artful use of words, participants explore our relationship with the ocean, guided by expression, conviction, and clarity of thought.

By supporting this event, Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy helps create space for youth voices within the broader ocean conversation, recognizing the value of public speaking as both an art and a powerful catalyst for a future engagement.
