I was delighted to be a panelist for the opening session of the event: “Sustainable blue economy for a green recovery.” at the European Maritime Day in Ravenna, Italy on the 19th of May 2022.
Events such as this one are critical to connect and work towards the conclusion of key strategies, plans and negotiations to tackle pressing ecological, economic, social and political challenges which also have important ethical implications.
After 2 years of virtual meetings, It was great to meet European Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius and other members of the European Commission such as the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Ficheries, Charlina Vitcheva. We shared enlightening discussions around how we can work together to achieve a healthy and sustainable ocean at the EU regional level, but also globally.
It is only by working together hand in hand that we will advance and achieve this blue-green transition!
