Sails of Change

Created in 2011, Sails of Change professional sailing stable co-founded by Dona Bertarelli alongside her husband, Yann Guichard. As a multihull specialist, the founders have won prestigious races and broken records both inshore and offshore. Today, the Sails of Change fleet comprises: two TF35, 10-meter flying catamarans and a 37-meter maxi-trimaran, which is the stable’s flagship.

Challenge

Sailing connects people to the ocean, making it a powerful platform to raise awareness for biodiversity. The sport helps highlight the ocean’s beauty and fragility, inspires action, and reaches global audiences. By using sailing to drive awareness, we can drive change and promote the protection of marine ecosystems.

Action

By sponsoring Sails of Change we aim to raise awareness for nature and conservation. That’s why the ‘30×30’ global call is proudly displayed on the TF35 catamarans and the maxi-trimaran sails and hulls, promoting action to highly and fully protect at least 30% of the ocean and the earth by 2030. This commitment is backed by the racing stable’ early adoption and promotion of sustainable measures, including a zero-plastic policy, rainwater recycling, low-energy lighting, repurposing old boat parts and becoming the first sailing team to sign the Sports for Nature Framework to broadly share its values.
