We support Patagonia Azul in their holistic approach to achieving long-term, effective marine conservation across 30% of regional waters in the area. They work to restore vital marine habitats and establish a marine protected park, build a biological research station, and conduct scientific surveys of key species such as birds, whales, sharks, and sea lions. We also back their efforts to raise awareness of conservation values and biodiversity threats, engage government stakeholders, and foster a restorative blue economy—through initiatives like the Ocean Club and support for local nature-based tourism and entrepreneurship. Thanks to these sustained efforts, Patagonia Azul was successfully established as a Provincial Park in 2025, creating a no-take zone equivalent to the size of the Yellowstone Park. This is now safeguarding more than 60 islands, bays and coves that are home to one of the most biodiverse hotspots on the Argentine coast.
