Connecting the public
to multilateralism

Challenge

In a world shaped by interconnected crises, global challenges, including biodiversity conservation, increasingly demand shared understanding and collective responses.

Yet the work of the United Nations and the system of multilateral cooperation is not always visible or easily accessible to the wider public.

Action

Opening in June 2026, Portail des Nations is a new United Nations visitor center located at the UN Offices in Geneva. It is designed to welcome visitors and immerse them in the multilateral cooperation and daily work of the United Nations.

Through an immersive experience, exhibitions, and spaces for learning and dialogue, the center connects audiences to the pressing issues of our time and to the collective responses shaped by international cooperation.

Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy supports this initiative to help make multilateralism more accessible, tangible, and engaging for a broad public.

Fondation Portail des Nations

As our world faces persistent conflicts, environmental crises, rapid technological advances, and a profound questioning of the multilateral order, one question becomes essential: how do nations cooperate to address shared challenges? The Portail des Nations aims to make multilateralism accessible to all by offering a place of learning open to everyone.
